The Grafton Greyhound Racing Club has been experimenting with "Pup Trials" for a few weeks now and they have proven to be well received so as such we are now scheduling these on a weekly basis.
The idea of these trial days is to provide a point of difference to our normal trial days. These are called pup trials as it is an opportunity for people to bring their pups along and have the opportunity to take more time and do a few more things with your pups prior to trialling if you wish to do so. For example if you wish to have the lure brought around to your pup so that you can tease them on the squeaker before they trial then by all means feel free to ask likewise you can ask the same after the trial if you wish.
It is not a day when we want people expecting a fast paced trial session, this is a day where trainers can take their time with their dogs so please understand if you want to get in and get out with your dogs then this day may not suit you.
The Pup trial days will be Wednesday of each week commencing at 9am however please be aware they will not be run after June 24 until Wednesday August 5.
Pup Trial Day (How do they work)
These trials are muzzle on and finish on only
There will be no trials into the catching pen as the arm will not fit under the gate
We use a higher arm then normal trial days which allows the dogs to go onto the arm without hitting it
Yes you can trial performed dogs but once again muzzle on finish on
The trials commence at approx 9am
and will be held on Wednesdays
The regular Monday /Friday
trial sessions have not changed
Cost is still $8 per dog
Yes you can attach your own squeaker
If it is not an artificial squeaker it must be tanned as per GRNSW
regulations and you must provide the Grafton Greyhound Club
with a copy of your receipt of purchase or it cannot be used
If you are worried about your wire muzzles being damaged Tara Greyhound Supplies
do sell the light weight plastic muzzles which were used in Brisbane when they had the finish on lure in operation
Don't expect to be in and out quickly on these days, trainers can take their time with their pups
These trial days are being held to help the trainer out so please respect how these trials have to be conducted
